I haven't finished a book for quite some time now. I tend to start reading a new book even though I am still in middle of another one. I buy e-books and paperbacks. I tend to forget the other books I have as soon as I get a hold of a new one. In the end, I get to finish nothing.
So here's what I am planning to do. In line with the book that I am currently reading, entitled 'Singletasking', I will focus on just one book at a time. Nothing else. I will not read other books even if I am tempted to start one. I will finish reading a book from cover to cover before I proceed to the next book. In this way, I will be motivated to finish my current reading task because that is the only way for me to go and grab a new one. This applies to all my paperbacks, e-books and magazines. Well maybe I can have a separate reading stream with my magazines.
The key here is to focus on the book-on-hand. I should have 100% laser beam focus and interest on the book that I am reading. With this, I won't have the urge to look for something else to read.
